Kidney beans, baked beans and butter beans are combined with ground beef, bacon and onion in this hearty dish. You can also put the ingredients into a slow cooker and cook for about 8 hours on low.
Ingredients: 1(15-ounce) cankidney beans, rinsed and drained 1(16-ounce) canpork and beans 1(15-ounce) canbutter beans, rinsed and drained 1/2cupketchup 2teaspoonswhite vinegar 1teaspoondry mustard 3/4cuppacked brown sugar 1poundground beef 6slicesbacon 1/2cupchoppedonions 1teaspoonsalt, to taste black pepper, to taste
Directions:
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.
Cook bacon in a large skillet until crisp; remove to paper towels to drain; crumble.
Cook the ground beef in the fat remaining in skillet until no pink remains. Add onion; saute just until tender.
In a large mixing bowl, beef, onion, catsup, salt, brown sugar, mustard and vinegar in a 3 qt. baking dish. Add all the beans, stirring gently to mix. Sprinkle with bacon.
Bake in preheated oven for 40 minutes.
You can also cook them in a slow cooker about 8 hours on low.
