Chocolate Meringue Dessert

Ingredients:
MERINGUE
6 room temperature
egg whites
dash
salt
1-1/2 cups
granulated sugar
1 teaspoon
vanilla extract
24 Nabisco Fudge Chocolate Chip
cookies, crushed
1 cup chopped
walnuts
walnuts
FILLING
2 cups
heavy whipping cream
4 tablespoons
unsweetened cocoa powder
4 tablespoons
confectioners' sugar
Directions:
Preheat oven to 325 degrees F. Grease a 9x13-inch pan.
MAKE MERINGUE:
Beat egg whites with salt until soft peaks. Add sugar and beat until stiff. Beat in vanilla. Fold in 1-1/2 cups cookie crumbs and nuts. Bake for 35 minutes. Cool.
MAKE FILLING:
Beat whipping cream with cocoa powder and sugar until stiff. Spread over cooled meringue. Sprinkle on remaining cookie crumbs and nuts.
Refrigerate.
