Old Fashioned Pound Cake

This is the BEST Pound Cake I have ever eaten! Author: David Sheridan, Thief River Falls, MN.

Ingredients:
1 1/2 cups butter
3 cups sugar
1 teaspoon lemon extract
1 tablespoon lemon juice
1 teaspoon grated lemon rind, +/- to taste
1/2 teaspoon baking powder
6 eggs
3 cups flour
1/2 cup evaporated milk
1 teaspoon salt


Directions:
Preheat Oven to 325 degrees fahrenheit.

Grease and Flour 10" Tube Pan.

Beat Butter until light and fluffy.

Add Sugar 1/2 cup at a time & creaming well after each addition.

Stire in Vanilla, Lemon Extract, Lemon Juice and Lemon Rind.

Add Eggs, one at a time, blending well after each addition.

Sift together Flour, Baking Powder & Salt; ass to creamed mixture alternating with Milk. Stire thouroughly after each addition.

Pour batter in prepared pan and Bake @325o for 70-80 minutes or until toothpick comes out clean.

Cool 20 minutes; remove from pan.
